OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KOKH) — Two people were following a crash into a drainage area in northwest Oklahoma City on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, two vehicles collided near NW 35 and May Ave. One vehicle veered off the roadway and landed in a 20-foot deep drainage pit.

Emergency responders reported that two occupants were inside the vehicle that entered the ditch, and firefighters had to retrieve them from the drainage area. Both individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle was assessed at the scene and declined further medical attention.

Authorities stated that crews remain on-site to clear the area. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
