DA's Office Identifies Teen Who Died in Stolen Car Crash in Abington.

Authorities identify 17-year-old killed in stolen crash in Abington on Wednesday morning.

According to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office, the victim is Sebastian Hamilton of Weymouth. The crash occurred around 7:47 a.m. when Abington police attempted to stop a Tucson reported stolen.

The left the roadway and struck a tree near 877 Washington St. Five individuals were inside at the time of the incident.

A 14-year-old female passenger was from the vehicle, while three other passengers, including one male and two females, sustained life-threatening injuries. They were initially taken to local hospitals and later transferred to Boston facilities for further treatment.

The driver, Hamilton, was trapped inside the SUV and at the scene.

Surveillance footage showed the SUV running a red light with police in pursuit moments before the collision. Witnesses reported that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to impact.

The officer involved in the pursuit has been placed on paid administrative leave as per departmental policy. The identities of the other injured victims have not yet been released.
