Bourne, MA – A head-on collision on Sandwich Road resulted in two injuries and road closures Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. involving a Jeep and a Toyota pickup truck, according to BOURNE POLICE. Multiple 911 calls alerted authorities, who responded with BOURNE FIRE DEPARTMENT and MASSACHUSETTS STATE POLICE.
Investigators found that the vehicles collided in the westbound lane. A 43-year-old man from Pocasset was flown to a nearby hospital via Boston MedFlight, while a 35-year-old man from North Carolina was transported by ambulance. The conditions of both drivers were not immediately available.
Authorities reported that the Cape Cod Law Enforcement Council's crash reconstruction team is investigating the incident due to the severity of the injuries. Sandwich Road remained closed until approximately 10:15 a.m.
