OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition following a racing accident at I-44 Speedway on Friday night.
During junior sprint heat races, the child's car reportedly rolled onto its side and caught fire. Witnesses reported seeing fuel ignite at the scene.
According to the family's GoFundMe account, the boy has sustained third-degree burns over half of his body and is currently on life support.
Acker Motorsports confirmed they are planning additional fundraisers to assist with the family's medical expenses.
