POLICE CHASE ENDS IN CRASH IN PAULDING COUNTY, GA
PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. (WKRC) – A police pursuit involving a U-Haul truck concluded with a crash after a PIT maneuver on May 8.
According to the Paulding Sheriff's Office, the chase began when deputies spotted the U-Haul driving recklessly within their jurisdiction. Authorities identified the driver as 33-year-old Damian Jones, who was wanted on multiple charges from other counties.
During the pursuit, Jones allegedly collided with a truck and several other vehicles. The chase ended when a deputy executed a PIT maneuver, causing the U-Haul to overturn in a parking lot near Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Jones was apprehended at the scene. Investigators reported finding drugs inside the vehicle; however, specific charges against Jones have not been disclosed.
Emergency response teams attended to the crash site, but there were no reported injuries from the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and lane closures were in effect during the response.
