GRANT COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — A man died following a crash at the intersection of US 60 and US 64 on June 25.
Around 7 p.m., emergency crews responded to the scene. According to investigators, 56-year-old Monty Corbet was traveling northbound on US 60 when he failed to notice a vehicle stopped at a stop sign.
Authorities said Corbet did not reduce his speed for the stop sign and swerved to avoid the other vehicle, leading him to strike a traffic light support pole. The impact caused his vehicle to rotate 90 degrees before coming to rest against a stop sign.
Corbet succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
