Mеггетт, SC – June 6, 11 a.m. – Charleston County deputies are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash involving a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV).
Authorities responded to Church Flats Road and Archfield Avenue after receiving reports of the collision. Preliminary findings indicate the UTV was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, resulting in the vehicle overturning and the driver being ejected. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Charleston County EMS. A passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The Charleston County Coroner's Office is responding and will release the victim's identity once appropriate.
