NORTHBOROUGH, MA—A car plunged into a neighbor's pool Monday afternoon due to brake failure, but the driver escaped uninjured.
Emergency responders were dispatched to Franklin Circle shortly before 2 p.m. to investigate the incident. Upon arrival, they found the sedan fully submerged in the pool, but the driver had exited the vehicle safely.
According to the driver, Nick, the brakes failed while descending a steep driveway. He managed to avoid crashing into the home but broke through a fence before entering the pool.
No injuries were reported. A crane was utilized later in the evening to retrieve the vehicle from the water.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the brake failure.
