Boyfriend of woman killed in Exeter crash granted bail at arraignment.

(WJAR) — A woman was killed in a crash on South County Trail in Exeter on Saturday night, according to Rhode Island State Police.

Miblia Hernandez, 24, was struck by an after an altercation with her boyfriend, Tariq Fomogun, 26, of Providence. Authorities reported that Hernandez had a restraining order against Fomogun, who was arrested and charged with obstructing an officer and violating the no-contact order.

Fomogun was released on personal recognizance with a bail set at $10,000. The court was informed that Hernandez had picked up Fomogun from work, and their argument led to her exiting the vehicle. State troopers clarified that she was not pushed into the roadway.

The driver of the remained on the scene and provided a statement to police. Shortly after the incident, Fomogun left the scene and was later found at South County Hospital, where he denied being with Hernandez before his arrest.

Fomogun's next court appearance is scheduled for April 8. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, authorities said.
