COLUMBUS, Ohio — A wrong-way crash on I-270 in Columbus early Thursday left one driver dead and another critically injured, authorities said.
The collision happened around 12:45 a.m. on I-270 and involved two sedans—a red Chevy and a black Audi—according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said two people were transported to a hospital in critical condition. The Chevy's driver was pronounced dead at 1:32 a.m. Thursday. The victim's name has not been released.
Video from the Ohio Department of Transportation shows a black sedan entering I-270 the wrong way prior to the crash, authorities said. There is no available footage of the impact.
Investigators are downloading data from both vehicles to analyze movements and direction. No determination of fault has been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
