JACKSON, Miss. — A burglary suspect led Hinds County deputies on a pursuit that ended in a crash early Thursday morning.
According to Sheriff Tyre Jones, the incident began at approximately 3:30 a.m. when deputies responded to a burglary at a Dollar General store in Pocahontas. A deputy observed a vehicle believed to be driven by the suspect leaving the scene.
Authorities said the chase involved Hinds County deputies and Capitol Police, concluding when the suspect's vehicle crashed into Young Achievers After School Care on Medgar Evers Boulevard in Jackson. Two suspects attempted to flee the scene but were apprehended shortly after.
The suspects, whose names have not been released, face charges of business burglary and felony eluding. No injuries were reported. An investigation is currently ongoing, and further details may emerge as the situation develops.
