BOGALUSA, La. — A father and his 7-year-old son died in a head-on collision Friday afternoon on Highway 21, just minutes from their home.
Zachary Armijo, 35, and his son, Ethan, were killed while returning from an errand for a family fishing trip. According to Louisiana State Police, Zachary was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, which resulted in a fire with Ethan still inside.
Zachary's wife, Victoria, is now caring for their four-year-old and seven-week-old twins while grieving the loss. The family described Zachary as a loving father who enjoyed bringing joy to others through humor, while Ethan was cherished as a playful older brother.
The incident remains under investigation by authorities. A fundraiser has been established to assist the family with funeral costs.
A celebration of life will take place on April 25 at 2 p.m. at Cassidy Park in Bogalusa. The family welcomes all attendees, encouraging a potluck and colorful attire.
