Bodies of three airmen killed in refueling crash returned to Ohio.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The remains of three airmen killed in a refueling crash in Iraq were returned to Ohio on Sunday.

Capt. Seth R. Koval, Master Sgt. Tyler H. Simmons, and Capt. Curtis J. Angst were among six service members who died on March 12 when a U.S. Air Force KC-135 aircraft crashed during combat operations in Iraq, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

The remains of one airman were transported from Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base to a local funeral home Sunday afternoon. This event is private and closed to the public.

All three airmen were assigned to the 121st Air Refueling Wing based in Columbus. They were part of a larger group that included three airmen from the 6th Air Refueling Wing at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida, who also lost their lives in the incident.
