DEADWOOD — A 46-year-old man from Colorado died in a crash on Highway 85 near Lead on October 5.
According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. when a pickup truck and a sedan collided head-on. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup truck was occupied by two individuals, both of whom sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The highway was closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene and cleared debris. Towing services removed the vehicles involved in the crash.
