HARRISBURG, S.D. — A Sioux Falls man died in a rollover crash on Interstate 29 near Harrisburg on March 10.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., first responders were dispatched to mile marker 71 at the Tea-Harrisburg exit following reports of a single-vehicle rollover.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a 47-year-old Sioux Falls man was driving a GMC Denali northbound on Interstate 29 when the vehicle drifted off the roadway into the median. The vehicle vaulted over a culvert and rolled over, ejecting the driver.
Emergency medical personnel transported the driver to a Sioux Falls hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the incident.
