Baraboo woman killed in crash with deer on Highway 33

TOWN OF GREENFIELD, Wis. — A 29-year-old Baraboo woman died after a deer struck by another vehicle crashed through her windshield on Highway 33 around 8:35 p.m.

According to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred when an eastbound vehicle hit the deer, which then collided with the windshield of the woman's westbound vehicle. The impact caused her to veer off the road and hit a house.

Emergency responders confirmed that the woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was at the scene. No injuries were reported from occupants inside the house.

Authorities are withholding the driver's identity pending notification of family. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
