Backyard Pirate Ship Becomes Stage for The All-American Rejects

LANCASTER, Ohio — The All-American Rejects played a surprise “House Party” show Thursday, May 14, 2026, at a field featuring a wooden pirate ship.

Fans received text alerts at 1 p.m. with the location and four hours' notice, according to the band.

The stage was a large wooden pirate ship built in a field behind local resident Andrew Gussler's home, Gussler said.

After an opening set by Columbus alt-rock band Dingo Dango, The All-American Rejects began at 7:50 p.m.

Approximately 3,400 fans attended the concert, according to the band's security.

The performance also served as the release party for the band's fifth studio album, “Sandbox,” the band said.

A music video for “Clothesline,” featuring footage from the Lancaster show, was released the morning of May 15, according to the band.
