LEWES, DELAWARE — Sept. 1, 2026, 6:10 p.m. A motorcycle crash on Coastal Highway resulted in one fatality, according to the Delaware State Police.
Authorities reported that a 48-year-old man from Harbeson was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident. The crash occurred when a Kia Sorento, traveling north, entered the left turn lane at Bay Crossing Boulevard and executed a U-turn into the path of the southbound motorcycle.
Emergency response teams arrived shortly after the collision. The southbound left lane remained closed for an investigation, which is ongoing. No other injuries have been reported.
