Dover Police Report Fatal Crash Involving High-Speed Vehicle
DOVER, DE—A 26-year-old woman died early May 6 after her vehicle collided with a tree, according to authorities.
At approximately 12:55 a.m., Aalyah Casson was driving westbound in a 2013 Nissan Murano on West Division Street at a high rate of speed. After turning onto South New Street, Casson lost control, veering off the roadway and striking a tree.
Police reported that Casson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Emergency responders arrived on scene but were unable to save her life.
Casson succumbed to her injuries shortly after the incident, authorities said. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
