ST. IGNATIUS—A 28-year-old woman died in a rollover crash in Mission Valley on Thursday evening.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on McDonald Lake Road, north of St. Ignatius. The victim was traveling westbound when her vehicle drifted off the road.
Authorities reported that the driver overcorrected, leading the pickup truck to skid off the roadway, roll over, and collide with a fence. The victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators suspect that drugs and speed may have contributed to the crash. The victim's identity has not yet been released.
The incident remains under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol.
