A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting on Friday morning.

According to the Cache County Sheriff's Office, deputies attempted a traffic stop on 48-year-old Roger Dean Campbell at approximately 9 a.m. near 1500 West 600 South, following reports of a pretrial protective order violation related to domestic violence.

Campbell fled the scene, navigating into a nearby neighborhood. During the incident, deputies fired shots, leading to Campbell crashing his vehicle into a tree.

Emergency responders provided aid, but he was at the scene. The identity of the involved deputies has not been released.

The Northern Utah Critical Incident Team has been activated for the investigation, following standard protocols.
