UHP and Unified Police Vehicles Collide in I-15 Crash.

WEST BOUNTIFUL, Utah — A crash involving two law enforcement vehicles occurred on Interstate 15 early Thursday, resulting in no injuries.

The accident transpired at 5:50 a.m. and involved three vehicles: a civilian vehicle, an unmarked Unified Police Department (UPD) vehicle, and a Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) trooper.

According to UHP, the incident started when two troopers initiated a traffic stop on the right shoulder of the southbound lanes. Motorists did not yield to the stopped emergency vehicles. To stop a vehicle that failed to provide clearance, one trooper moved into the far-right lane and was rear-ended by another vehicle. That vehicle rolled into the left lane, colliding with the unmarked UPD .

Authorities reported no injuries from the incident, but southbound lanes of I-15 were closed for the emergency response. UHP is reminding drivers to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles to ensure the safety of first responders.
