DRAPER, Utah (KUTV) — A motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition following a crash on Interstate 15 on Tuesday morning.
The Utah Department of Transportation reported the incident just before 5:30 a.m. near 14600 South.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, the unidentified rider was found unconscious but breathing, suffering from head injuries. Authorities noted he was not wearing a helmet when first responders arrived.
Details regarding the cause of the crash have not yet been disclosed.
The collision blocked the left two northbound lanes of I-15 near the point of the mountain, causing traffic delays. UDOT's Traffic Monitor indicated slowing in the area as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene. Commuters heading into Salt Lake County should anticipate delays around the point of the mountain.
