AYNOR — A golf cart driver was killed early on Sept. 20 after a collision with a pickup truck in western Horry County.
The incident occurred just before 1:15 a.m. on Jordanville Road near the Dog Bluff Road intersection, according to Cpl. Nick Pye of the S.C. Highway Patrol. A 2018 Chevy pickup traveling west struck a 2020 E-Z-GO golf cart, which was also moving in the same direction. The impact caused the cart to veer off the road and into a ditch.
The driver of the golf cart was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment. No injuries were reported for the occupants of the pickup truck.
The Horry County Coroner's Office has not yet released the name of the deceased, pending notification of family members. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
