A McCalla man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on June 13 in Tuscaloosa County, according to state troopers.
Jeffrey T. Hunter, 66, died when the 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was operating collided with a 2012 Honda Civic driven by Michel Yahir Lopez Prudoth, 21, of Jacksonville, Florida. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported that Hunter was thrown from his motorcycle and subsequently struck by a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Carl J. Bartlett, 67, also of McCalla. Hunter was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 8-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:51 p.m. on Eastern Valley Road near Foster Road, about three miles north of Woodstock. Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate.
