AMES, Iowa — A Slater woman faces trial next month for a fatal wrong-way crash on Highway 30 that occurred in May 2022.
Ashley Taylor, 41, has been charged with vehicular homicide, operating while intoxicated, and reckless driving. According to the Story County Sheriff's Office, Taylor was driving the wrong direction when her vehicle collided with 26-year-old Christian Royston's car.
Royston, a graduate of Iowa State University, was employed by the Iowa State Daily at the time of the incident. Authorities confirmed that a jury trial is scheduled to begin on July 21.
