PHOENIX – A driver died following a crash on I-17 Thursday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The Arizona Department of Transportation reported that the incident occurred early at approximately 5:14 a.m., leading to the closure of the southbound lanes. These lanes were reopened about 30 minutes later.
Authorities stated that the driver's vehicle collided with a median barrier at a high rate of speed. Initially, DPS officials indicated that three cars were involved in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
