MESA, Ariz. – A crash early Tuesday morning resulted in the death of a driver, according to Mesa Police.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near Mesa Drive and Hampton Avenue. Authorities reported that a single vehicle collided with a median barrier before hitting a parked car.
“The collision caused the adult male driver to be ejected from his vehicle,” police stated. “Unfortunately, the driver and sole occupant was pronounced dead on scene.” No occupants were in the parked vehicle at the time of the crash.
Police indicated that speed was a contributing factor in the accident, and an investigation is ongoing. Further details regarding the driver's identity have not yet been released.
