Fatal Crash Under Investigation in Stuart, FL
STUART, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a fatal accident that occurred early Saturday morning, September 6, around 1:30 a.m.
According to FHP, a 2019 Toyota RAV4 was traveling southbound on Horizon Avenue near Salerno Road when the driver failed to stop at the dead end of the street. The vehicle proceeded off the roadway, down an embankment, and collided with the other side of a ditch.
Authorities confirmed that the 19-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A 30-year-old passenger sustained several broken bones but is reported to be in stable condition.
Emergency responders from the FHP were dispatched to the scene to assist. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
