Orange County, Florida (April 25, 2023) – Authorities are investigating an early Sunday morning two- crash that killed one person and sent six others to a hospital in Orange County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the tragic traffic collision occurred at around 4:30 a.m. April 23 on Dean Road and State Route 408.

As per the report, a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe traveling south on Dean Road ran a red light and crashed into the side of a 2016 Toyota 4Runner, turning left from the exit ramp to head north on Dean Road.

As a result, a Toyota struck a median and overturned.

The Toyota's driver, described only as a 23-year-old man, was declared deceased at the scene.

Authorities said a 15-year-old Hyundai driver and his five occupants, who were also teenagers, were taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital and Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe had been reported stolen.

All the lanes of Dean Road were closed until they reopened at 11:13 a.m.

No more details about the crash were available.

The FHP is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
