Honda Issues Recall for Over 800,000 Vehicles Due to Suspension Concerns
Honda is recalling 880,514 vehicles, including certain models from 2016 to 2022, over rear suspension component failures, announced on July 7, 2026.
The recall affects the 2016-2022 Honda Pilot, 2017-2023 Ridgeline, 2019-2023 Passport, and 2014-2020 Acura MDX sold across multiple states, including Connecticut, Illinois, and California. Authorities said the rear subframe can corrode at suspension mounting points, potentially leading to loss of vehicle control.
Honda estimates that only 1% of the affected vehicles may contain the defect. The company has reported no warranty claims, injuries, or fatalities related to this issue.
As part of the recall, Honda and Acura dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and provide necessary repairs, including the installation of a reinforcement kit, at no cost to owners.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) campaign number for the recall is 26V367000. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) related to this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov starting June 10. Owners can reach Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 for more information.
