Driver Charged in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 45
A driver has been charged following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 45 near Main Street at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities said.
The crash involved three vehicles, including two sedans and a pickup truck. Two people sustained injuries and were transported to the local hospital for treatment. The conditions of the injured individuals have not been disclosed.
The incident prompted a response from the local Fire Department and the State Police. Emergency crews closed two lanes of the highway for over an hour while they cleared the scene and investigated the cause of the accident. Witnesses reported heavy traffic delays in both directions.
Authorities confirmed that one driver was charged with reckless driving. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.
Towed vehicles were removed from the roadway by 4:30 p.m., and all lanes were reopened shortly thereafter. No fatalities were reported at the scene.
