DETROIT (WKRC) — Ford Motor Co. is recalling nearly 420,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a seat belt defect.
The recall includes 419,967 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator models from 2018 to 2022, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Authorities said the seat belt pretensioner may inadvertently lock, preventing proper extension or retraction. This malfunction could increase the risk of injury during a crash.
The NHTSA confirmed the details in a report released earlier this week. Ford is expected to notify affected vehicle owners, but specific repair details remain unavailable.
