Motorcyclist Hurt in Moniteau County Crash
A motorcyclist sustained moderate injuries during a crash on Highway 50 in Moniteau County on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m., west of Brick School Road, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 57-year-old man from California, Mo., was following slow-moving farm equipment when the crash took place.
Authorities stated that a 1996 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle, operated by a 53-year-old man from Clarksburg, Mo., attempted to slow down for the vehicles. The motorcyclist lost control, resulting in a fall and subsequent impact with the rear of the Silverado's trailer.
Emergency medical services transported the motorcyclist to University Hospital for treatment of his injuries. No other injuries were reported. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
