14-Year-Old Injured in E-Bike Crash in Groton, Massachusetts
A 14-year-old suffered serious injuries in an e-bike crash in Groton, MA, on Saturday morning.
At approximately 11:16 a.m., Groton police and fire responded to an emergency call at the Bertozzi Conservation Area. The youth was riding along an abandoned railway line when they encountered an unexpected drop of 10 to 12 feet.
Authorities stated that just before reaching the Bertozzi Conservation Area, a stream crosses the tracks. The rider was unable to stop in time and fell into the ravine below, sustaining significant injuries and losing consciousness.
First responders administered emergency care at the scene. The teen was subsequently airlifted via helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for further treatment.
