TOWN OF GREENFIELD, Wis. (WKOW) — A crash on Highway 33 near Man Mound Road on Monday evening resulted in one fatality.
According to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, 31-year-old Joseph T. Ott of Portage was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred at approximately 6:31 p.m. and involved four vehicles.
Authorities reported that a sedan traveling east crossed the centerline, prompting another vehicle to swerve to avoid it. This maneuver caused a collision with a westbound vehicle. The sedan then continued and struck another westbound vehicle head-on.
The driver of the vehicle impacted by the sedan was transported to a hospital via UW-Med Flight. Three additional individuals from the crash were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals for medical attention.
Emergency responders are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. No information regarding road closures or vehicle tows has been provided at this time.
