MADISON, Wis. — A man died following a motorcycle crash with an SUV in Fitchburg on August 7 at approximately 5:20 p.m.
According to the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office, Troy Lepien, 54, from Verona, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. A preliminary autopsy confirmed that the injuries from the crash were the cause of death, with further tests pending.
The incident occurred on South Seminole Highway. Fitchburg police and the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
UW Health has identified Lepien as their Vice President of Business Integrity. In a statement, the organization expressed their sorrow, saying, “We were devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Troy Lepien. He was a cherished colleague… and always put patients at the center of everything he did. He will be deeply missed.”
