Man Dies, Woman Injured in Head-On Crash on Dixie Highway
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead and a woman is injured following a head-on collision on Dixie Highway Saturday afternoon.
Just before 12:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) responded to a multi-vehicle crash in the 13100 block of Dixie Highway. According to authorities, the preliminary investigation revealed that a woman driving southbound crossed into the northbound lanes, colliding head-on with a man's vehicle.
The impact caused the woman's car to also strike a northbound pickup truck. The man was transported to UofL Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The woman was taken to the hospital, where her injuries are reported as non-life-threatening. The driver of the pickup truck declined medical treatment at the scene.
No other vehicles or drivers were involved in the incident. Both sides of Dixie Highway were temporarily closed as LMPD conducted their investigation, but the lanes have since reopened.
