Former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Trevor Bauer was involved in a car crash in Scottsdale on May 20.
According to reports, Bauer's McLaren sports car collided with another vehicle in a T-bone accident. Footage showed debris scattered across the roadway.
Witnesses reported no serious injuries. Bauer, 35, exited the wrecked vehicle unharmed.
The Long Island Ducks, Bauer's current team, confirmed he was not at fault. In a statement, team president Michael Pfaff said Bauer “avoided serious injury.”
Authorities indicated that the collision occurred while Bauer was in Arizona for treatment related to a back injury, placing him on the injured list.
“Trevor is on the injured list and was receiving treatment for back spasms when he got into the accident,” the Ducks announced. “Thankfully, he is OK.”
In his first season with the Ducks, Bauer has a 4-1 record, including a seven-inning no-hitter and a 2.43 ERA.
Bauer, drafted by the Diamondbacks in 2011, played 10 MLB seasons, earning the National League Cy Young Award in 2020.
He faced sexual assault allegations in 2021, resulting in a 324-game suspension later reduced to 194 games. Bauer was reinstated for the 2023 season but was released by the Dodgers.
