Pike Creek Motorcycle Crash Claims Life
May 16, 2026, 1:00 p.m. ET – A motorcycle crash in Pike Creek resulted in the death of a Wilmington man.
Delaware State Police reported the incident occurred on Limestone Road when a northbound Harley-Davidson collided with a Honda Accord turning left onto Ocheltree Lane. The 38-year-old motorcyclist attempted to slow down by laying the bike on the road but skidded and struck the Honda, resulting in his ejection.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The 77-year-old driver of the Honda, a Maryland woman, reported no injuries.
As of mid-May 2026, Delaware has recorded 41 fatalities on its roads, which is an increase of eight compared to the same period last year.
