FOND DU LAC, Wisc. (WLUK) — A police chase culminating in a crash occurred on [date] at approximately [time] near Interstate [number].

The pursuit began after State Troopers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Dewayne Stokes of Milwaukee, who had an active felony warrant. Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office assisted, but Stokes fled, leading authorities on a chase of approximately 4.5 miles.

According to authorities, during the chase, Stokes reversed direction off an exit ramp and drove recklessly through streets and parking lots. The pursuit ended violently when he lost control while exiting the interstate, crashed into a ditch, climbed an embankment, and became airborne before landing in a field.
