Man Killed in Jacksonville Accident on I-295 near Beach Boulevard

Jacksonville, Florida – One person was killed and two others injured in a crash involving a wrong-way driver in Jacksonville early Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

At around 3:11 a.m. March 13, FHP said a silver Hyundai sedan was traveling the wrong way on southbound I-295 when it collided with an oncoming BMW head-on.

The impact caused the BMW to spin, and it crashed into the guardrail before colliding with a semi-truck.

The BMW and the semi were sent careening down an embankment following the collision.

The BMW driver, a 23-year-old man, was not wearing a seat belt and was killed in the accident.

The Hyundai came to a rest on top of the guardrail. The driver, a 22-year-old woman from Corpus Christi, Texas, and the 48-year-old woman who was driving the semi, were both with serious injuries.
