3 Killed in Parrish 2-Car Accident at Rutland and Jim Davis Roads
Parrish, Florida (May 20, 2023) – Three Plant City residents were killed in a head-on crash Monday afternoon at an intersection in Parrish.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened just before 2:00 p.m. on May 15 in Rutland and Jim Davis Road.
A 59-year-old Palmetto man was driving a dump truck west on Rutland Road, entering a curve, and at the same time, an SUV going east on the same road was entering the same turn.
Both vehicles collided head-on in the area in unclear circumstances.
The 71-year-old man, a 71-year-old woman, and an 80-year-old woman, all occupants of the SUV, were declared dead at the accident scene.
The 59-year-old dump truck driver was injured and was taken to Manatee Memorial for treatment.
An investigation is underway.
