DRACUT, MA – A Tyngsborough man died following a head-on collision on Merrimack Avenue on Tuesday night.
Police received reports of the crash around 8:30 p.m., finding 48-year-old Damian Torres unconscious next to an overturned Jeep Wrangler. An off-duty EMT at the scene began CPR before emergency responders arrived.
Torres was transported to Lowell General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A woman and a teenager in the other vehicle, a Subaru Forester, sustained minor injuries and were treated on site.
Authorities conducted a search for a potential second occupant in the Jeep utilizing a K-9 unit and a boat, but no additional individuals were found. The roadway is situated near the Merrimack River.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to authorities.
