PALM CITY, Fla. — Two men were arrested following a road rage incident at an intersection in Martin County on Tuesday morning.
According to the Martin County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to reports of a disturbance at 8:10 a.m. at Southwest Martin Downs Boulevard and Southwest Sand Trail.
William Dinardo Jr., 32, of Palm City, was driving a truck when he engaged in a verbal confrontation with a woman in an SUV. Shortly afterward, Dashon Henderson, 27, of Port St. Lucie, attempted to pass both vehicles on the two-lane road.
Authorities said Dinardo allegedly tried to run Henderson off the road multiple times, prompting Henderson to pull a gun and fire at the truck. The situation escalated, resulting in Dinardo rear-ending Henderson's vehicle.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek called the incident an unnecessary escalation, emphasizing the need for individuals to control their emotions while driving.
Henderson was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, while Dinardo faces one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The investigation is ongoing, with both men currently in custody.
