Police discover nearly 500 pounds of liquid meth in minivan following crash that resulted in two fatalities.

FORT WORTH, Texas (WKRC) — A minivan crash in Fort Worth on Thursday morning resulted in the deaths of two men and the discovery of nearly 500 pounds of suspected liquid methamphetamine.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. when a minivan struck an unoccupied parked truck on a roadway. Emergency responders located a man deceased in the passenger seat, while the driver was also at the scene.

During the investigation, authorities discovered 10 plastic buckets emitting strong fumes inside the minivan. Texas Narcotics officers were summoned to assess the situation. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) later determined that the substance in the buckets was likely liquid meth, with an estimated street value between $1 million and $3 million.

A firefighter exposed to the chemical required hospitalization but was released the following day and is in good condition, according to police reports.

Buddy Calzada, a spokesperson for the Fort Worth Police Department, stated that the situation could have resulted in more severe consequences, given the hazardous materials involved.

The identities of the deceased men have not been disclosed. The investigation is ongoing, with roadway access impacted during the response and cleanup efforts.
