WASHINGTON (7NEWS) — An investigation is underway following a crash that caused a Metro to collide with a restaurant in Northwest D.C. on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. near 7th Street and Q Street, NW, when a vehicle struck the bus, which then veered into the AMBAR Restaurant. The establishment was unoccupied at the time of the collision.

Authorities reported that three adult women, including the bus driver, sustained minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Emergency crews worked on scene, and the bus was removed from the building just before noon. Following the extraction, fire officials assessed the structure and confirmed it to be structurally safe, with no need for additional shoring.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and DC Fire and EMS are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
