Four people were injured Sunday evening in a multi-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 25 in Adams County, authorities reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:23 p.m. near Commerce City, just south of Interstate 76. Adams County Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene and transported four individuals to the hospital; the specific vehicles involved have not been disclosed by officials.
According to Adams County Fire Rescue, a speeding Jeep clipped another car before crashing into a concrete barrier, damaging a section of it.
As of 6:20 p.m. Sunday, three lanes of southbound I-25 remained closed between I-76 and Colorado 53 for cleanup and investigation, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. CDOT traffic cameras showed significant backups as five lanes of traffic merged into two.
