Sherburne County, MN – April 9, 2025 – A high-speed collision involving a Minnesota State Trooper and a wrong-way driver left several people injured, including two teenagers.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. on Highway 10. Trooper Ryan Moeser's squad was responding to reports of a wrong-way driver, identified as 71-year-old Dale Braun of St. Cloud. Moeser's vehicle reportedly exceeded 126 mph before colliding with Braun's .

Witnesses noted that the crash caused Braun's vehicle to spin and strike two teenagers, Blayke Mostad, 18, and his brother Braxton, 16, who were outside their pickup truck. Mostad remains with severe spinal injuries and paralysis, while Braxton sustained a serious eye injury.

Emergency responders transported all injured parties to nearby hospitals. The State Patrol confirmed lane closures for the investigation, which is ongoing. Authorities stated no charges have been filed against Trooper Moeser, who returned to duty in August 2025 but is now on administrative leave.

Family members of the injured teens have initiated legal action against the State Patrol, alleging negligence on the part of Trooper Moeser. They are seeking accountability for the incident, which has resulted in significant medical bills exceeding $2 million.

The State Patrol declined to comment on the specifics of the ongoing investigation or the litigation process.
