Two Dead in Carlton County Crash

THOMSON, MN — A two-vehicle collision on East Stark Road at Canosia Road claimed two lives and injured two others Friday morning at 9:02 a.m.

According to the Carlton County Sheriff's Office, the crash involved a GMC Sierra pickup truck and a Chevrolet Impala, both of which came to rest in a ditch. Emergency responders declared two occupants of the Impala, identified as Anthony and Tammy Drake, both 57 and from Oronoco, dead at the scene.

A 32-year-old man and a 1-year-old boy in the GMC were transported to a local hospital for treatment, with their conditions not immediately disclosed.

While the investigation continues, authorities stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the crash.

No further details regarding lane closures or towing have been released.
